Taxes not being applied... Any suggestions?

Hi, I am configuring a store based in NY and I need to apply an 8.38% sales tax to all local sales. Unfortunately, I can't seem to do this.

I have a tax rate of 8.83% for tax class "Taxable Goods" and zone "NY". NY is defined as country "United State" and zone "New York". All of our products are in the "Taxable Goods" class.

What am I fogetting? My user account has a shipping and billing address in NY.

Be sure that the Product is marked as Taxable Goods ...

Also check whether you have the Tax based on Store, Shipping or Payment address ...

Hi Ajeh, Thanks for the speedy response. I have previously read the post you point out and I followed the instructions within. All my products are properly set as Taxable Goods. The tax is based on shipping (although I've tried billing as well, with no results).

Taxes should be applied to attributes too, right? My products are all set to $0 and the price is determined by attribute alone. Could that cause a problem?

Nope ... I have tried this on a normally priced Product and on a Priced by Attribute Product and both are managing the tax fine ...

umm ... perhaps you could whisper to me in PM a login to your Admin and if I play nice in there I might see what you are doing moofy? :eek:

Also a products_id that you are testing this with would help ... :smile:
