Checkout not going to Step #2

Checkout not going to Step #2

I have logged in put items in the cart, but can not get past step 1, no error just nothing happens.

How do I troubleshoot this to know what to do, or do I just reinstall the checkout module(s)???

Help most appreciated.

What version Zen Cart?

What Shipping Modules do you have installed?

Which did you choose?

I have 1.3.0.1. Some of the items have attributes, but that does seem to matter.

Modules installed are Cash on Delivery which I plan on changing to store pick.
Check or Money Order and PayPal.

Those are payment modules - you need at least one shipping module.

I have the pick up at store module now installed for shipping. Still hangs between Step 1 and Step 2 with no error message. Very frustrating. I have set up the tax also.

Have you an URL that we could peek at?

Do you have 0 weight products?

Are 0 weights Free Shipping?

Have you configured in the Shipping/Packaging whether or not 0 weight Products means Free Shipping?

If 0 weight does mean Free Shipping, then you need the Shipping Modules ... Free Shipping freeshipper installed ...

If 0 weight does not mean Free Shipping, then you need to set the setting correctly in the Shipping/Packaging ...

Order Free Shipping 0 Weight Status
If there is no weight to the order, does the order have Free Shipping?
0= no
1= yes

I tried all those things nothing worked so I upgraded to the newest version and I am a happy camper except for two things:

A Filter Results Box shows up in the category description and the attributes box is way too low on the page in the detailed item listing.
