Dots show up in password field

I've had this issue for a while and was wondering what could be causing it. When a user connects to our site, the the sidebox password field is filled w/dots. In addition, when a customer logs into the site via the login page, the same issue occurs. Anyone know how to remedy this? This is a v1.2.5 site.

Its meant to be like that as its a security feature.
If someone was standing next to you as you entered your password for example they could easily read your password from the screen.
I wouldnt recommend you removed that feature personally.

I understand the feature and do not want to remove it. But the dots show up when you hit the page for the first time w/o entering anything. That's the issue. You can see it if you go to the site.....
