This is a toughie...

Okay, I revamped the entire template and rebuilt my top menu. It works great, except for some little something I can't seem to find...

http://www.digiscrapdivas.com/shopping

Now, if you aren't logged in, there's a bit of background between the top menu/logo and the top of the screen. Now, if you login with this:

[email protected]

and

testing

see how the space disappears? I don't want the space, I don't know where it's coming from...any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: This is a toughie...

Looked in IE, NS, & FF and see the about 10px of additional background...

Your head is contained in a table named #Table_01 and is something that you have added and I would look to the code that you entered this in.

And this is in a class of #headerWrapper and this is not in your css currently.

Some combination of the sizes of the #headerWrapper descritpion and the table description are most probably at the root of this rendering.

You also have a headder_06.gif that is not displaying but may be part of your space management in the table.

Re: This is a toughie...

Looks to me like the space before logging in, is created by an image that I don't understand it's intended purpose... in the tpl_header.php;

<div id="headerWrapper">

<!--bof-branding display-->
<!-- ImageReady Slices (Untitled-1) -->
<img src="includes/templates/custom/images/header_02_b.gif" alt="" height="22" width="83">

Re: This is a toughie...

This line is showing up on the logged out page, but not the logged in page.

<img src="includes/templates/custom/images/header_02_b.gif" width="83" height="22" alt=""></a>

I'd say that's causing the problem, considering it's completely blank. ;)

Edit: sketchy beat me to it.

Well, yes, but that's an alternate image that shows when customers are not logged in and it is completely blank. If they're logged in, they see this image: includes/templates/custom/images/header_02.gif, which is the "My Account" slice of the banner.

Re: This is a toughie...

The blank image is located in the wrong place, I believe it should be in one of the table cells.

Re: This is a toughie...

Okay, I admit that I am only doing this via trial and error, but I looked at the other images that serve the same purpose (i.e. includes/templates/custom/images/header_03_b.gif) and it is done the same way... I thought that since the <td> was there for the image that shows when they ARE logged in, it would also put the alternate image in the table space...

If you have Firefox & the dev tools or IE & the dev tools, when not logged in youcan see that the space(background) that you are concerned is being used with this image. It is doing exactly wht you have instructed it to do , I suppose. That being display the alt image. You will have to move where this image is displayed to solve your issue.

Re: This is a toughie...

Okay, I figured it out, thanks for the help. I did have to add a <td> tag before and after that image. I thought I'd tried that before, but maybe I had put it in the wrong place. Anyway, thanks for the help, I finally have it like I want it!
