Send mail to warehouse after checkout

Hi,
I need to be able to send an automatic email to our warehouse after every checkout, with the order info.
And also I need to store if the email was sent or not, so in case the mail functions fails, another script can loop through the orders daily for unsent ones and send them.

I can program do a little script for this functions, and do the Mysql mods..

But I don't know where to add it.
Meaning, which files and tables should I look into.

Any pointers?
I couldn't find a contribution that does this.
Anyone have done this, or something similar I can use?

Thanks.

in your browser have a look in
admin-> configuration -> email settings

and send an extra order confirmation to the warehouse

no coding needed

That could work, but just half the way.
But I'd still need to tweak some of the code.
I mean, In order to take advantage of the warehouse system capabilities, I would need to send an email with a specific comma delimited info on the body of the message.
This way they will process the orders faster.
Where should I look into modifying the extra order email to suit our needs?

Thanks
