usps.com Click-n-ship AutoFill Button Contrib

I don't think the folks you were addressing are using the multi-store add-on for ZEN CART.. I think they meant they use their USPS accounts for more than ONE website, and that doesn't necessarily spell out multiple Zen Cart sites.. For example I have a client who has an Etsy store in addition to her Zen Cart stores (ie: more than ONE website) and she only has ONE USPS account..

ses707:

Contribs go in final packaged addons, this is MY single working file, I removed several outdated and incorrect items, and did not take credit... Be happy it works and get over it!

You must change it to "same", might as well remove the invalid zip, with the last attachment it should work fine, others have verified it does.

I don't have any clients running multi-store on ZC anymore, all got smart and moved to Magento for that. I see the problem, it could be fixed with more time, time=money.

You're welcome! To change your address book entry go to USPS.com Hi, YourName at the top right and hit the My Profile link. You will be taken to the Edit Profile page where you can setup the defaults.

You're doing something very wrong if USPS auto-fill is causing a problem on the frontend!

Correct!

You're welcome! You are probably referring to the order page, get beyond compare and use it! This addon itself does nothing security wise. Or drop down a few and use the packaged addon JT made.

Why would you do it manual when auto works?!

More could be done to accomodate multi-store and wanting to use admin stored return addresses, and there's an unhappy credit camper (see first re:), otherwise good job, will make it much easier for the less php competent store owners.

Eh, I don't get it ... if you are the same store doing business in multiple places then you can still have one company name and return address and it can be saved in the USPS profile/address book and the addon as it stands right now will work for you. Only when you have multiple stores do you need to appear as multiple companies using different return addresses specified within each separate ZC admin.

emeraldspread & johnniejetski will have to provide details on their specific situations. I was simply pointing out that I did not think they were speaking specifically of using the Zen Cart multi-store add-on implementation as your answer seemed to indicate you thought they were doing. (I did not get that this from their posts:lookaroun so they will need to clarify what they mean by "multiple websites")

First off, thanks to all of you for figuring out the solution. It's a big help to many of us, greatly appreciated!

I've packaged the files in an "official" module that I will upload to the main contribution page (so others can easily find it).

This version includes the latest usps_autofill_button.php file, as well as adjustments to orders.php to include the latest security fixes for zc1.3.9 and zc1.5.0. I also cleaned up the install/read me instructions.

As far as I can tell, it works flawlessly. Please check it out and let me know if there are any issues. If not, I'll upload to the Add-ons section.

You guy's are simply amazing.

It blows my mind :lamo: how you can take a old patched-up USPS Auto-fill mod that worked so-so with the old Click-n-Ship program and in about 8 hours or less release a finally fixed mod that works with a completely new Click-n-Ship software. All this was done without you having consulted with anyone at USPS or having their source code or large amounts of developer money and resulting in a product that is so much better than the old.

All of you thinking of using zen-cart or new Zen-cart users this is the main reason to be using Zen-cart.

Again many  from all users of this mod.

Yes, the error I was getting was caused by something else I did... unrelated.

I went back to manual input of addresses during the day b/c I didn't have time to mess around with the autofill file while trying to process orders, but will return to trying to fix it tonight if the new mod file works with my Zen Cart version (1.3.8a).

Thanks!

Re: usps.com Click-n-ship AutoFill Button Contrib

Working great with 1.39h. Thanks!

I set the default to --Other-- in the Deliver:y Default Shipping from Same ZipCode option and put my regular zip in the** Delivery: Default Shipping from Other ZipCode (If Radio Button set to Other)** to get past the error thingy with the zip entered in the return address that can't seem to be taken care of. That way I don't have to click on or enter anything to proceed.

Thanks for this tip. I've now got it all working reasonably well.

JackieT--- I have a few questions using with ver1.5.0. When I was testing Old Click-n-Ship (CnS) the mod function OK. When you went to Configuration, USPS Auto-Fill Config (USPS AFC) was not listed. So I check DB and all 19 items were there and I set the values in the DB. USPS AFC work just fine in domestic or international shipping.

Since we now have new CnS and revised USPS AFC for Ver 1.5 and backwards I first check the files were the revised one and next I went to My php Data Base and removed both USPS AFC (configuration and configuration_group). I next installed the install.sql patch. I clicked on Configuration and USPS AFC still not listed. Check My php DB and all 19 items were listed there. I filled out values there in DB including "return name & address items" even though I believe you said was not pulling from there anymore. I think you said need to set "Delivery: Default Shipping from Same Zip-code (Radio Button)" button to "same" not "other" works great for me no error.

I have completed testing new CnS with v1.5.0 both domestic and internationally it worked great.

I guess my first question is why isn't USPS AFC not showing up in Configuration drop-down list?
Is there a way where the "Get track and confirm notifications via email" can be default with a check mark?
Is any of the Return: values need to be filled in?

Thank you

The new fix is working great and is much appreciated. I notice that the box to send us tracking is not selected by default. Is this possible? I believe this used to function properly. I have the appropriate setting checked in the ZC admin.

Under admin/Configuration/ "USPS Auto-fill Conf" does not show using v1.5.0. Is their a fix for this or have I missed something back somewhere?

Re: usps.com Click-n-ship AutoFill Button Contrib

Thanks for getting this fixed. Saved our butts.

I did notice that although I have the return address filled in in the config, it does not transfer to the form. It takes our default USPS acct info. Have to go into the address book and select our preset return address.

Minor thing. Did that before too. (1.3.8a)

Thanks again for the speedy work on this! When I first caught this, and then looked at the contribution log, I wasn't very confident this was going to get fixed given the date of the last update. Great community at ZenCart!

I also have the same problem, but even I create a new default shipping address in USPS.com, it still use my profile address as return address. Do I still miss something?:(

Re: usps.com Click-n-ship AutoFill Button Contrib

I appreciate all of the work that is being done. One minor item that I can live with, but I want to tell everyone else.

In v1.5, by default it checks the box "ship from another zipcode". Unchecking the box just causes an error when moving to p.2. The solution seems to be to leave the box checked and fill your ekmail address in the box. Everything then works.

Regarding the lack of the config menu item, that disappeared with v.1.5 using the old app. I have lived without it and everything has worked. It would be nice to get it back, but NBD.

If everything esle works, then it's a matter of someone adding the right files and DB changes needed to make the admin menu visible.. Hopefully the add-on maintainers will add this to the fileset..

It would be nice if we could just click the button next to zip code instead of entering it by hand again. I have to do this 20-30 times a day
