Free Shipping not working!

I have the freeshipper module installed, and I have created a zone for the continental US with all the 48 states in it. I also went to Modules > Order Total to change the free shipping amount to $0.

I have tried everything, but the free shipping option WILL NOT show up at checkout. I searched the forums already but couldn't find anything. Help would be extremely appreciated! Thank you so much!

The Free Shipping freeshipper Shipping Module is a special type of Shipping Module ...

This only shows when the Shipping Charges are $0.00 because:

1 Products are 0 weight and 0 weight is set to Free Shipping

2 Product is marked as Always Free Shipping

It never shows with the other Shipping Modules ... and when the Free Shipping freeshipper shows ... the other shipping modules hide ...

If you want a Free Shipping for US customers only in addition to regular shipping modules, then you would use the Free Shipping Option freeoptions ...

Set the Total >= 0 and Set the Zone to the US ...

Now only US customers will see the Free Shipping Option in addition to regular shipping modules ...

Thanks for your help! I thought I had it working but....

I set all of my products to weight 0, and for addresses within the zone of the US, free shipping works. However, when I tried an Alaska address, no shipping options showed up. The shipping options have completely disappeared for the rest of the world! I even made another zone with all countries, and put that as the flat rate zone, but nothing is showing up!

I don't have free shipping options.. is that from a new update? when I update, do I have to redo all my customizing, or will it stay there?

You are using Free Shipping Options freeoptions correct?

The Free Shipping freeshipper will only work when no other shipping module can show for free shipping ...

That means regardless of zone, only when it meets the Free shipping criteria can this display ...

Make sure your US Zones has all of the US in it ... how did you make it?

What shipping should show for the other locations?

I don't have the shipping options "freeoptions".. under the shipping menu, all I can see for free shipping is freeshipper.

I created my zone by going into Zone Definitions, creating a new zone, and adding all of the 48 states I can ship free to.

the other shipping method I have is flat rate, which should show up for all of the other zones.. I even made a new zone "world" with all zones in it, because I thought that might help.. but it didn't.
I would be using USPS, but usps.com no longer requires a password, only an ID, so Zencart won't let me use it. If I upgraded, would these things change? Is that were the freeoptions comes in? And is upgrading difficult? Would I have to re-edit all of my settings/layouts?

On USPS use Zencart for the password ... it will work fine ...

You need to make a new shipping module from flat.php and clone it to something like:
/includes/modules/shipping/flat.php to usfreeship.php
/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/flat.php to usfreeship.php

Replace all flat with usfreeship and all FLAT with USFREESHIP they are case sensative ...

Now set your US shipping zone on this shipping module ...

Set the amount to charge to 0.00 and handling to 0.00 ...

This will now show for the 48 states you have setup ...

NOTE: upgrading is always recommended ... at least to v1.2.7 until you can get to v1.3.5 ...
