USPS/UPS locking up checkout

Hail Zenners!
I was having a problem with my checkout locking up at step 1... UPS and USPS would not give shipping estimate (they were set up correctly).
I've been scrambling to find where the problem was, and if I turned those off and wend to table shipping, Voila! I can check out.

Anyone have a clue as to why these modules might not be working?

Sadly, I'm running 1.3.0.2 and cannot upgrade yet (bloody Fantastico)

Might want to consider learning a better way of upgrading which is where you actually do the upgrade yourself ... :smile:

There are many threads on how to perform an upgrade on a /new_shop with a new database and practice an upgrade before doing it for real ...

I so totally agree :)
I just didn't want to grief my hosting provider, as they're generally nice folks that I started with a Loooong time ago.

We're functioning for now, and will deal with upgrading asap. Thanks for the input!
