Disappearing EZ-Pages nav bar?

Hey there. I've been working on a client's site for quite a while now with no major problems, but suddenly last night, she says the EZ-Pages nav bar under the header is gone! Just gone; not even the background image is there. She sent a picture (in Word, so I can't post it here) and the whole section seems to be either missing or blank (it's hard to tell in the small picture).

I've checked it out on IE6, FF and Safari and have had others check it out on IE6 and Safari and we all see it just fine. My client is using IE7, but can see the section in FF. Could this be a IE7 bug? Is there anything I can do about it? She's obviously very concerned.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

I haven't taken the plunge and installed IE7 yet so I can't tell you for sure, but I would say it sounds like a bug in their browser. Try googling for peek a boo bug or disappearing text in IE7.

Re: Disappearing EZ-Pages nav bar?

Thanks so much. I checked out a bunch of pages, but nothing that could help me figure out how to fix it. My client's really upset and I don't even have any suggestions for her. =(

Re: Disappearing EZ-Pages nav bar?

IE7 fixes some IE6 bugs, and breaks some hacks that people used in IE 6 to make things work properly in IE 5 or Firefox. Or she might have a buggier older version of the IE 7 beta.

Try getting rid of all the CSS involved in the display of that EZ-Pages links bar and see if it comes back. Try displaying it on another part of the page. Try displaying it alone on it's own page. Isolate whether is the CSS or HTML of the EZ-Pages bar, or if its another part of the page above or below it. Hopefully she replies to emails quickly :)

Re: Disappearing EZ-Pages nav bar?

This is a nightmare. I fixed the EZ-Pages by setting the height to 1% (because THAT makes sense!), but now:

I can see the categories now, but they are way up in the header. I can’t see Indulge Your Body and when I click through the pages some of the info is up in the header.

The thing that's really bizarre to me is that she's been using IE7 all along and these problems JUST started Saturday night.

I'm downloading IE7 right now, much to my dismay, so that maybe I can recreate these issues. It's so frustrating to me that with all the money Microsoft makes, they can't afford to design a browser that works properly.

Re: Disappearing EZ-Pages nav bar?

I finally got it worked out. Turns out the initial error was IE7 and the 1% hack worked, but the second error was mine. In my efforts to figure out what the hell was going on, I accidentally made the height of the logoWrapper too small. Oops!

Hopefully that'll be the last of the adventures with this project! <wishful thinking>

Thanks for y'all's help!
