1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

hi there,
i have installed zen-cart plenty of times without any trouble. but this time i'am getting an error i have never seen before:

everything is installed and working (at least the front page) but when i click on a category or a product (from the main page) i get the following error message:

1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

does anybody knows how i can fix this?

What version did you install?

Clean install or an upgrade? If an upgrade from what and how did you do it?

i am using version 1.2.7 and is the same version i have installed in other sites. and always have worked fine. why is now giving me this problem? is there anything i can do to fix it without upgrading?

There is an odd obscure bug ... if I can remember what it is ...

What fields are you displaying in your Product Listing ...

this is a clean install
i get the error message whenever i click on a category (in the categories menu) or directly on a product (what's new, or new products for this month at the bottom)

if i click on the 'all products' or 'new products' link (under the categories menu) i can see the listings with no problem, but when i click on any product on those listings i get the error again...

help please...

In the Configuration ... Product Listing ...

You have fields defined with values or 0 ... 0 means OFF

What fields do you have defined to show?

I'm getting it too. Just installed Image Handler 2, it worked fine, I was able to bang around in the shop to both categories and products, now it says (on all pages):

in:

Display Category/Manufacturer Filter (0=off; 1=on) 1
Prev/Next Split Page Navigation (1-top, 2-bottom, 3-both) 3
Display Product Listing Default Sort Order
Display Product Add to Cart Button (0=off; 1=on) 1
Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status and Set Button Location 3

Any ideas? I'm going to remove Image Handler, since that was the last thing I did before this happened (before that was Ultimate SEO).

OK, uninstalled Image Handler, that didn't help. So I turned off Ultimate SEO, and then turned off "Add category parent to begining of URLs?". That did the trick. The site is back.

I remembered getting a similar error in Joomla when I turned on an external SEO mod there.

Is anyone knowledgable about a fix for this problem in Ultimate SEO?

Further info: I turned Ultimate URL's back on and re-installed Image Handler, but left the "Add category parent' festure in Ultimate URL's off. The site seems fine. I've no idea what is causing this, but it was the SEO program that caused this same issue in both Joomla and in an X-cart system I did for a client.

It seems that search-friendly URL's are a bit more of a challenge than they appear!

My big dilemma now is to upgrade or not to upgrade to 1.3.5.....

This same error message comes also when the server upgrades for MySQL 5 series. Then the ZC versions prior to 1.3 stops working and gives this error. The solution is to install the newest ZC version in that case.

Here is the fixed version of Ultimate SEO URLs: http://rapidshare.com/files/4022023/zencart_seo_136.zip.html

It contains the fixed seo.url.php sql query and also updated versions of categories.php and product.php.

Simply unzip the content of the zencart_seo_136.zip in your store main directory and rename the htaccess_sample file and it should be working. I have tested this only with ZenCart 1.3.6 so compatibility with older/newer version is not guaranteed.

I'm facing the same exact problem. Haven't installed Ultimate SEO or anything.

I had to change hosting, so all i did was copy all my files from the old site to the new site, created DB & imported data of the old site, & updated 2 configure.php files to link the DB. Like in the scenario above, "All Listing" is working fine, but when i click on a product or click on categories, i get this error.

Actually it turned out to be MYSQL version problem. Zen i'm using is v1.2.7, which has issues with MYSQL 5. I had my site moved a another server with MYSQL v4.1 .. which instantly resolved my problem. Although for anyone how might be going through this thread in future, i found this download patch in one of the forum threads that is supposed to resolve the issue of v1.2.x with MYSQL 5 (although i didn't get the chance to test it)

I just ran into this problem so I thought I should add to the thread.

Everything was working just fine until I went to adjust the sort order of one category. After that I got the 1054 error.

I had had problems with Ultimate SEO add on so I had turned it off (rather than uninstalliing thinking I could solve the problems later). Even though it was off, it appears that the selection ""Add category parent to begining of URLs?". under Ultimate SEO still had an effect.

After I set that to false the site came back up - Phew!

Never would have even looked at it given that it was off but this thread gave me the idea to take a look anyway.

I applied your fix and it worked like magic; I was going crazy and I did not know what to do or where to begin.
I'm on version 1.3.7 and I changed hosting service and now it all works perfect.
