How Can I Get Rid of The Unwanted Search form?

Anyone got any idea how I can get rid of an unwanted search button/form?

My site is at :

http://www.a1-media.co.uk/catalog

I want to keep the search form which appears on the banner, but not the one that is just below it in the right banner section.

I dont seem to be able to remove one without the other.

I can see the code I'd like to remove when I view the page's source code.
However, Im not sure where I need to go to actually edit this.
(or whether I should actually be doing this)

Cheers...Jaz

Re: How Can I Get Rid of The Unwanted Search form?

yeah - when I alter the 'search_header.php' I only seem to be able to have either both search boxes on or off.
I cant get it to only display the one in the banner.

I'd assumed by the name of the box controller (search_header.php) that i was editing the correct one. It does allow me to switch the banner one 'on' and 'off', but the rightbox one seems to be tied to it.

:(

There are two settings i.e.
sideboxes/search.php
sideboxes/search_header.php
You need to adjust the first one, which governs left and
right side search box.
search header governs exactly what it's title suggests

Yeah - I have set both of these :

sideboxes/search.php = OFF
sideboxes/search_header.php = ON

However, it still appears in the sidebox.

Anyone know how I can go in and remove this manually from the html?

Re: How Can I Get Rid of The Unwanted Search form?

Left/Right Column status = ON
Location = RIGHT
Left/Right Sort Order = 0
Single Column Sort Order = 0
Single Column Status = OFF

The options it forces you to choose from are a little contradictory to what you'd expect.
It forces you to choose either a left or right column (Location) when the object is supposed to be for the header section, and shouldnt be in either the left or the right.

If you set the 'Left/Right Column status = OFF', the search form disappears from the header.

Re: How Can I Get Rid of The Unwanted Search form?

Set the search_header to:
Box Name: search_header.php
Left/Right Column Status: OFF
Location: (Single Column ignores this setting) LEFT
Left/Right Column Sort Order: 0
Single Column Sort Order: 0
Single Column Status: ON

Set the search to:
Box Name: search.php
Left/Right Column Status: OFF
Location: (Single Column ignores this setting) RIGHT
Left/Right Column Sort Order: 10
Single Column Sort Order: 0
Single Column Status: OFF

Now you will have the Search only in the header and not in the right column ...
