Cross-Sell Advanced!

Hey all - I'm running ZenCart 1.3.8. I'm trying to put in the Cross Sell Advanced module. I've successfully installed both without a hitch, and it seems to be working fine. However, in the "How To Use" instructions, it says this:

"XSell config can be found here: Admin->configuration->cross sell"

But it's not there. I go to Admin->Configuration....but there's no "Cross Sell" listed there, nor anywhere else in admin (save the Catalog section - which doesn't let me set my products by ID, which is what I need to do).

does not work for me. I've triple-checked, and all files are there, and uploaded exactly where they need to be. Yet the option still doesn't show up in the menu. Anyone have any idea why?

I just installed the Cross-sell Advanced mod without a hitch!:thumbsup:

Works perfect for me, and I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but did you first install the Xsell module? This is an add-on module (a mod of a mod) so you need to have xsell installed for this to work.

I'd really apreciate it if someone has already moded the advanced cross sell to work by product_id instead of model.
Anyone have any ideas?

There is such a mod already. Look for a mod named Just_Another_Cross_Sell_Mod

I am currently using this mod and am quite happy with it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but did you first install the Xsell module?

Absolutely. XSell works perfectly fine. I just can't get the "advanced" to show up in the menu so I can cross sell stuff faster. The advanced shows up in the "Catalog" section, but I can't use it because I don't have how the cross sells should be defined (ID or model #) - and I can't define them because it's not showing up in the "Configuration" drop down. I have both of these modlues working perfectly in 3 other shops - I don't know why it's not working here.

There are 3 xsell modules in the download section:

1. the original xsell, which is pretty old
2. the advanced xsell which allows you to to add up to 5 products per time
3. the just-another-xsell which allows you to xsell by either model or product id, and allows you to add multiple xsell, xsell 1 way - 2 way etc.

The latter 2 modules both rely on the 1st one, however, the newest version of the 3rd one should already have the original xsell inside it.

Can't advance the pages in xsell ... only shows page 1 of 7. >> does not work nor does the drop down for additional pages. Any suggestions?

Ok, When I looked in the instalation file I saw that I had to install "module manager", so I did. Then I installed the Xsell mod but now I get an error messge when I go to the Admin...

Fatal error: Call to undefined method yclass::init_template() in /home2/racktcom/public_html/shop/admin/module_manager.php on line 14

What's wrong? How can I fix that?

We recently went live with our new site. A while back I set up one Cross Sell, and it looks fine. You can see it here...

Now that the site is up, I'm back to tweaking things into shape. I decided to set up another Cross Sell today. Hmm...look at the images! They're way too big and not aligned like on the first one (at the link above). See the "bad" one here...

I am using 1.3.8a cart, and was using cross sell 1.3 before. I just installed the module manage, and also the cross sell advance.

The problem I am running into is that although I am able to see from admin->configuration->cross sell setting, but under catalog, there is no advanced cross sell, instead, I am still seeing the old cross sell option.

Would anyone tell me what I did wrong?

The sql patches are applied, and have transferred all the files in the downloaded folders up to the server.

Hey. I think i've followed all the steps to install but when i try to set up a cross sell nothing happens except an error message at the top of admin saying "Please input at least 2 products ids/models to cross-sell". This happens when i configure xsell for models and for product ids. Any ideas what i've done wrong?

Mystery solved: As sure as i was that i'd done everything - turns out i didn't! Forgot one of the sql statements (i installed without the mod installation contribution). All seems to be working good now. Thanks for the great mod.
