zen_products Quantity Calculation

I was wondering if there is a way to make zencart not update the zen_products products_quantity field when orders are placed. The reason i want to do this is so i can make my own inventory system using odbc. Maybe we can see Zen Cart add an option such as option not to calc the qty field 1 = on 0 = off (that would be nice). Maybe there is something im missing any advice is greatly appreciated. Really need to figure out a way to not calc the quantity after an oder is placed.

Already there...admin > stock > Subtract stock > set to false

Wow!

They really have thought of everything!!

By far the most dynamic database ive every worked with I love it!

Yes, "Thought of Everything" even if it is not currently available at the moment.
But has most definetly been thought of.
