I tried searching for this, but not sure how to word it, and can't find the answer.

Is there a way to do "buy X# of X product, get Y free?" For example, I sell ice cream pints, and want to do "buy 3 pints, get 1 whipped cream free!"

You can't do this with Better Together.

I have installed the mod and updated the tpl product info display. But all i get is the words BB beneath the product description nstead of the promotion text.
The side box works fine
I am using 1.3.9.

Yesterday I bought the product Better Togrther Admin... I installed step by step following the instructions. I'm using Zencart 1.3.8a . The result is ... Better Together Admin works fine in the admin... but in the store nothing happen.
If you add to cart the product in the place where is supossed to see the promotion deal it says:

You may want to add some instructions for using the shopping cart here. (defined in includes/languages/english/shopping_cart.php)

That is a text that never was showed before. I wrote to the author but he offer me a support for an extra payment of u$60. So in my opinion, I think that the product should be $120 instead $60. LOL

I tested the product in another domain with Zen Cart 1.3.9, using a different template and the result is the same.

Hundreds have had success with my commercial mods, thousands with my free ones, but I guess no solution is right for everyone. Your money was being refunded as you were writing that post; it's not worth my while to have complaining customers.

When a client buy a product is because is interested to have it working... not because they want spend money. The fact to refund a payment to a client that didn't claim it is like you say "You know what? I don't care your business! and I have not time your you."

Sorry to jump in here, but I figured I'd add my 2 cents. I also purchased some products from this company and couldn't get it to work. The problem is NOT with the products, but rather how you install them. So if you're not getting the results you want, trust me on this... contact the company and ask them to do it for you. His prices are reasonable and it will be worth every dollar. Within a few hours, EVERYTHING was working. And I know it's not only my experience because I read all the reviews on this company first.

So take it from me, the products are GREAT. And it doesn't cost a lot to get it done right.

Yes, I know! actually I purchase it because I see a lot of great reviews. The problem is I'm unemployed and I have not money in this moment. I will wait to earn some more to pay him $120 to let the problems out of my over stressed head.

before I install this add-on, could anyone tell me if it is relatively easy to set up BOGOF across all my products w/o needing to associate every product with every other product in the code? I sell only one type of item w/ only one single price for all items, and I simply want BOGO across the entire store. Is this easy to do with this mod? Thank you!

With Better Together, you'd have to associate every item with every other item.

I'm using Zen Cart version 1.3.8

I installed the Better Together add on and I would like to offer if the customer buys $100.00 worth of Gift Certificates, they will get a FREE $20.00 gift certificate.

Is there a way to do this through Better Together?

Better Together is "Buy A, get B at a discount."

"Spend $X in category A, get B at a discount" is a different problem.
