Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

I have now discovered a 2nd problem. Any product that has combo attributes will show "out of stock" on the display line of the 1st attribute & will not show anything other than the display line on the 2nd attribute. See pic below:

Update: I have resolved the 2nd problem by disabling Dynamic Dropdowns...

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

I have discovered yet a 3rd issue... On all my product pages, the words "larger image" are displayed below all my product images. Normally that text is not there. Normally you just click on the product image and a larger version of that image pops up. Now that larger image won't load at all? Any ideas? See pic below:

Umm, the second "issue" was not a problem. At least as described. The second dropdown doesn't populate until the first is selected. Then depending on other settings, either the second is populated with product that is both in stock or out of stock or just those in stock.

If in fact selection of one of the in stock first attributes did not update the second dropdown then check your javascript/html validation.

Back on your first question. What option name type did you assign the dropdown in which you wish to see that product is out of stock?

How did you install this plugin with regards to your original template? If you simply overwrote the files, then you didn't do your cart justice. No plugin that has template files incorporates the new code with the existing code just by overwriting. Need to merge previous with current and understand that the software provided in a plugin is some version of a vanilla copy of the ZC file with changes made to support the plugin.

That, and again I would say that there is a html validation issue that existed before adding this plugin or in adding it one was created.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

I turned it back on just to check, but it isn't working properly. I selected the 1st dropdown 30ml (glass) (+$22.00), but the 2nd dropdown still will not populate. See pic below:

Huh, the picture says otherwise than what I describe below, but the response is as I describe.
Let's see. Your attribute: please choose a bottle size is not marked as display only in the attributes controller. As such when you have added (assuming you have) the attributes as variants that the option "please select bottle size" received no quantities, therefore when the selection(s) were displayed the please choose a bottle size option had no quantity assigned and therefore displayed out of stock.

The listing though does not identify that all product are out of stock, only that the first "please select a bottle size" option is out-of-stock. The others, show that there is stock of some amount and selection of one of them should update the second dropdown unless there is a pre-existing javascript issue or the javascript is not loaded in the correct sequence.

Regardless, your please select option really should be made display only so that when/if customers select that option ZC will know that they are not selecting a true product and that they should be warned about the faulty selection. At least that's the intended operation.

Again, I could totally be wrong here, but aren't the "please select" lines marked as display only? If I did it wrong, I'm even more lost than I thought. lol

No you're right which is why in the moments I still had available I modified the first paragraph of my response. It's been a while since I've tried using SBA with DD and a display-only attributes... typically, with DD enabled it serves as the display only part and one is not required. I thought that the code also removed the display only/default option, but as said it's been a while to look at that aspect.

Does that mean that you are now using the additional option name type that is added by SBA? (admin->catalog->option name manager) instead of the plain dropdown?

Or is it that you found something else to correct because it is now working for that product?

No, I had no clue that this was even available.

I had typed the "I'm an idiot" comment before I saw that you edited yours. I was thinking that I had it backwards, but infact i had it marked correctly.

This makes absolutely no sense, but when I changed the settings in my attribute controller, it seems to be working... see pic:

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

Yeah, something about your setup is backwards. Could be template related could be something further. I've seen something before that operated backwards on the display only options.

It will/or is likely to cause some issues if the store continues to be so backwards as display only attributes do not show up in the SBA admin variant development side. :/
