:blush:

Thenks.

www.kavanali.comNot a feature of this mod. You might try using the Attributes Grid add-on along with the SBA mod.. This is the only mod that has been setup specifically to work with SBA.. For single or two attribute variants, the Attributes Grid add-on will visually indicate to your customers which variants are in stock.

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

Am having a layout issue with the "Stock by Attribute" add in

ZenCart version 1.3.8a

Installed the Ajax version and all appears okay except the layout for Admin > Catalog > Products with Attribute Stock is just a mass of text - there is no styling applied.

I did the recommendation on here and added the following files from the MultiAdd download:

  • admin/includes/stock_attributes.css
  • admin/includes/stylesheet.css
  • admin/orders.php

However it still looks like a mass block of text with blue links in it. Any suggestions - and any ideas when ZenCart will include this as part of the build?

Thanks

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

Just so it's clear, MY recommendation was to use the stylesheet from the MultiAdd version with KUROI's version of SBA.. NOT the Ajax version.. (Not sure who recommended using the orders.php file from MultiAdd version.. I don't remember seeing anyone suggest that)

There are issues with the Ajax and Multiadd versions of SBA, and YES while there is a new version of the Ajax version which addressed SOME it's specific issues, it still is not working as it should.. I posted more about my testing of the latest Ajax version in the other SBA support thread: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34977&page=83

Bottomline is that the only issue free version of SBA continues to be Kuroi's version. The stock tracking by attributes feature are supposed to be included in the upcoming Zen Cart 2.0 release..

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

Quick question...

Here's the functionality I need, and I was wondering if this module provides this or not.

Say I sell Widgets in Blue and Red and Thingies in Green and Orange and I have 200 of each type/color. I also have a package deal where I sell a package of your choice of 5 Widgets and 5 Thingies together for cheaper than buying them separately. Will I be able to make it so that whether someone buys a Widget or Thingie separately, or they buy the package deal, it will subtract it from my pool stock of 200 of each type, so that inventory stays constant?

Thanks! :D

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

Using ZC 1.3.8a and SBA 4.7Ajax.

Have seen this question in the past but not a good answer yet. I am using attributes marked in Attributes Controller as Display Only and Default in order to direct customers to pick an attribute (for example "Pick a Color" or "Pick a Size").

Is there any way to modify Stock By Attributes to ignore attributes that are marked as Display Only? The customers would never be able to select these and therefore there is no stock tracking necessary. Seems to me that it should be an easy mod and desired by everyone using this plug-in.

I know I can delete these manually, but it takes too long when you have a lot of them.

Thank you! :smile:

Its still great plugin but I just don't need it with our current setup. Thanks!

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

I just finished upgrading a clients site from 1.3.7 to 1.3.8a. I've applied all the security patches. The site uses the xGiftwrap Module and the Stock by Attributes module. I'm not sure if my problems are related to the stock by attribute add-on, but it seems like it may be.

The issue my client is having is that shoppers are able to go through the purchase process and buy products that are out of stock. When an out of stock product is placed in the cart, the red box warning about something being out of stock shows, but it allows the shopper to continue on and check out.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

I've been wading through the many pages of this thread looking for a solution to my client's problem that I mentioned above. I found a post that reference the same exact problem, but dealing with older versions of ZC and Stock by Attributes. It seems that the issue was and incompatibility between the particular versions of ZC and Stock by Attributes. I'm wondering if that is the problem I'm having. As I mentioned, I just upgraded to 1.3.8a. I installed SbA v4.7ajax. Is there an incompatibility between those versions? I'll keep looking to see if I can find an answer to this. If anyone knows the answer, please do let me know. :smile:

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

I found posts stating that these types of issues are usually due to either:

  • files not being correctly uploaded, or
  • leaving old files on the server.

I compared the modified files from the SbA v4.7a with what I had on the server and found a couple of discrepancies between them. The discrepancies weren't in any of the code that was marked as part of the SbA edits, but none the less when I corrected those discrepancies the store is no longer allowing me to check out with items that are out of stock. :clap:

No step by step or uninstall.. You will have to go through and manually reverse everything (SQL entries, and remove SBA specific files..)

Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9

Hi

I have had a requirement to create a custom column within the products_with_attributes_stock so that stock level could be automatically updated based on my suppliers product codes.

What I need to do now is to incorporate something that populates this column when adding quantities to variants.

Its very simple really, my codes are always just a number, my suppliers are this number plus a letter on the end Dependant on the size, for example:

1000 would be my code so in the modified table there would be:

stock_id products_id stock_attributes quantity suppier_id
6 1 7 12 1000S

where product id 1's model id is 1000
stock_attributes 7 = small
thus creating 1000S

I see in the products_with_attributes_stock.php file the query is:

$query = 'insert into `'.TABLE_PRODUCTS_WITH_ATTRIBUTES_STOCK.'` (`products_id`,`stock_attributes`,`quantity`) values ('.$products_id.',"'.$attributes.'",'.$quantity.')';

So I would need something like this:

$query = 'insert into `'.TABLE_PRODUCTS_WITH_ATTRIBUTES_STOCK.'` (`products_id`,`stock_attributes`,`quantity`,`supplier_id`) values ('.$products_id.',"'.$attributes.'",'.$quantity.','.$supplier_id.')';

to obtain the variable $supplier_id I need two variables

The first being the model_id - easy enough as it can be taken from the products_id already obtained for the page

The second is the option_value_id based on the section made in the form.

From these I can run an if string to get the $supplier_id value - a bit like this:

if ($options_value_id == 4){
        $supplier_id = $product_model.'S';
    }
    if ($options_value_id == 5){
        $fullprodid = $product_model.'M';
    }
    if ($options_value_id == 6){
        $fullprodid = $product_model.'L';
    }
    if ($options_value_id == 7){
        $fullprodid = $product_model.'XL';
    }

I am having trouble working out where I need to call the values etc. If anyone is willing to give me pointers I would very much appreciate it :o)

Cheers,

Phil

my bad that should have been:

```php
if ($options_value_id == 4){
        $supplier_id = $product_model.'S';
    }
    if ($options_value_id == 5){
        $supplier_id = $product_model.'M';
    }
    if ($options_value_id == 6){
        $supplier_id = $product_model.'L';
    }
    if ($options_value_id == 7){
        $supplier_id = $product_model.'XL';
    }
kuroi:
@gsdcypher, If you're using the current version, 4.7, then running the following SQL should neuter itYou may wish to also replace the files mentioned in the installation documentation with their originals from the release package of the Zen Cart version that you have installed, but that shouldn't be necessary.
@greenraingraphics, installing won't help you as your problem has nothing to Stock by Attributes. See post #405.
Kuroi I ran the sql command you advised in order to uninstall but I broke the whole cart down!
Ok found it :) There was a file called attributes from probably older version in modules folder...
Re: Stock by Attribute v4.0 addon for v1.3.5-1.3.9
Hi zenners!
I took over a client's shopping cart (v1.3.8) about 6 months ago. It has the stock by attributes add-on. I recently added new SKUs and the USPS shipping module seems to be out of whack because of the new SKUs (and only new SKUs) and their attributes with stock. Out of whack meaning that the shipping estimates are outrageously expensive.
These rates are only with the new items and not the old. I have made sure that the new items have correct weights to price out shipping, but I am stumped. :frusty: I am 80% sure that it has something to do with stock by attributes because this is not happening on the old items.
Thank you,
Michelle Carbone
SBA would not affect shipping rates in anyway. However if you have product attributes which have weight differentials (which would be are added on to the overall product weight), then that might be the source of your shipping calculation issue. (see screeshot attached) If this is the case, this is NOT an SBA issue, but simply something you need to correct in the way your products and attributes are set up.
