Can't get admin to resend password>>!

V1.3.5 @ freehostia.com

was playin with CSS via FTP for last while, and went to log into admin recently.

Dunno if I didn't remember the password right or wether the admin is a bit messed but it wouldn't accept the password, clicked for password resend, which it tells me it has done, but I'm not receiving one!!

need help getting back into my admin fair urgently cos have client waiting, anyone know how to fix?? much thanks.

is there any way i can even change the email address its trying to send to? sometimes it seems gmail has prbs with automatically generated mail.

I still have access to my hosting control panel and MySQL db (though ihaven't a clue in MySQL)

changed email address in MySQl, but still no email received.... Help:(

Best to double check the send password again. In fact... I better check mine, I have a site through the same host. :laugh:

Using freehostia? was not to happy with them in the last while, had OSComm installed and they turned of elefante for some reason, basically you could view index and that was about it.
Then on first zen install, MySQL DB was wiped.

saying that there free accounts are very good bundles, who else gives ftp access, PHP, MySQL etc??

Am actually transfering to paid ukos host (for adult based site) package, so far so good.

Also have found that with Gmail it just doesn't accept some auto generated emails.

So far so good with them, although they go offline for a long time without warning. :laugh:
I had other one, similar, but they had forced ads that ruined the template. If this current host goes under... I'll be one sad panda, this is the only decent free one that I could find. Like you said, can't get much better for $0. :no:
I don't use their mail program. I couldn't get their free mail to work at all.
Definitely, a paid host would provide better protection and offer more. When I start making money, I'll move on too.

Ok I have deleted and re created a password. Just try 'Resend Password' It gives me following message. Why?

Should it be opening a different page to enter email ? is that what it is trying to do? How do I fix this.

This message usually comes up only if you have installed the "admin_levels" or "admin_profiles" mod onto your site. You'll need to log in as another admin user with top-level security rights and allow your new user access to their various functions.

Thanks Dr. So there is no fix to this except to uninstall admin_profiles. Must have been an oversight by admin profiles authors :-(
