Template help

I'm totally new. I wanted to switch to a different template than the standard. I download a few templates from the template area to try and put them in the includes/templates/ folder. But when I go into admin/tools/template selection the other templates aren't there. It says 1 of 1 template association.

I've looked through all the support documents, wiki and forum boards and can't find out how to get the templates to show up. So I'm lost. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If you have downloaded, for example, the future_zen template then you would unzip the file into:

includes -> templates -> future_zen

Once this is done you upload this new folder to your server.

Now in admin -> tools -> template selection

Click the edit button and select the future_zen template and click the update button.

now in admin -> tools -> sidebox layout scroll down to the bottom and click the reset button.

Your new template should now be installed

I did all that. The new templates aren't showing up in template selection.

What are the folder-names in your /includes/templates directory on the server?

They are

gloss_black_template_1.0
nightfall_template_1.1
sophy_blue_1.0c
sophy_bluegrey_1.0g

WHen you download contributed templates, you need to unzip them.
Then, after unzipping, you'll typically find that they contain an /includes folder
You need to upload the /includes/ folder contents from what you unzipped into the /includes/ folder on your server.
