Credit Card E-mail

I tried placing a sample order through my zencart at http://www.musclewithoutsupplements.com/zencart2 and used a credit card to place the order. I then received the following e-mail:

"WARNING: You have enabled the CC payment module but have not properly
configured it to send CC information to you by email. As a result, you will
not be able to process the CC number for orders placed using this method.
Go to Admin->Modules->Payment->CC->Edit and set the preferred email address
for sending CC information.

Please direct this email to the Accounting department so that it may be
filed along with the online order it relates to:

Order: 4"

and below that are the middle 8 digits of my credit card number. I purposely have zencart set up so that all the digits are stored in admin and not e-mailed to me to make it as easy as possible for me, which is why I did not enter an e-mail address for it to send me the middle digits. I am using the newest zencart (1.3.5). Anyone know how to disable this e-mail since it comes everytime I place a credit card order.

Re: Credit Card E-mail

Uninstall the Credit Card cc Payment Module ... then reinstall it and set your email address for the middle digits to be sent to for the customer's Credit Card ...

You will see on the order all but the 8 middle digits ... those you will get to the email address you see in the Credit Card payment module ...

Re: Credit Card E-mail

storing ALL of the numbers is NOT possible,
they are not encrypted and against the rules of ALL credit card companies,

If you dont want to have to match them up then you need to get a gateway

Re: Credit Card E-mail

NOTE: storing credit card information on your site is:

1 against the TOS of just about everyone under the sun

2 not really bright as you will be liable when your site is hacked and all your customer information is released to the world with their credit card info

Use the proper method to use the Credit Card cc module ...

Otherwise, if your site is too big and too busy ... get a real Payment Gate way such as AuthorizeNet or look in our Recommended Products on the Home page for other alternatives ...

Re: Credit Card E-mail

Where on the order should I see the outer 8 digits? I tried a test with the test cc number and I get the 8 middle digits, but not the outer ones.

Re: Credit Card E-mail

I had to check the orders section in the admin for the outer numbers. Like the new support forum layout btw!

Re: Credit Card E-mail

Hi... well all of a sudden my client doesnt have the outside numbers of her client's credit card in her admin area.

This turned up in her email:

<!--- WARNING: You have enabled the CC payment module but have not properly configured it to send CC information to you by email. As a result, you will not be able to process the CC number for orders placed using this method. Go to Admin->Modules->Payment->CC->Edit and set the preferred email address for sending CC information. -->

The thing is that the email address was already configured to go to both her and myself. I've removed my address for now.

Previous usage of the credit card facility to place orders had shown great result for numbers being sent to the client and the 8 backend numbers showing as they should in the admin area including the removable CVV number.

Now she isn't receiving the final digits in the admin, although does get the CVV and does get the middle digits via email. (and now with warning above)

I'm thinking of turning off the CVV module to see if that makes a difference.

Running 1.3.7.

Any clues please?

Cheers
Dusky.

Re: Credit Card E-mail

What is the format you have her email address in? Try removing changing from: <email@MY_ACCOUNT.com> To: email@MY_ACCOUNT.com

Re: Credit Card E-mail

Okay Kim.. thanks much.
I will try that just for a test in case someone else has the issue too.

The client has decided that she isn't phased about taking the CVV number now. She's taking the CC info manually. Its just a good starting point for her to have the initial CC details to call the client back with, then ask for the CVV.

I'll chat to her about trying it out as a test, she's pretty cool.

Thanks again.
Dusk.

oh edit -- I had both of our emails in there together (to back her up), but having taken mine out now, it all works fine. Cheers
