Takeaway Delivery Charges

Hi,

One of the problems I am having is that I need to work out delivery charges based on distance from the kitchen!

Our orders are delivered for immediate consumption so we have several needs: -

Delivery is charged a breakpoints determined by distance.

Distance from the shop is restricted to within 5 miles maximum.

I have seen php code at SlooMedia Tutorials - Click Here - which shows how to calculate distance based on postcodes, which would be great for our needs.

Is there are shipping module that works on this basis?

Perhaps the delivery postcode information can be taken from the user account details, whereas our postcode is obviously fixed. Then the charges based on a definable sliding scale, to help make the module useful to a number of business types.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that weight isn't an issue at all.

Our drivers simply pick up each order, then whisk it straight from the kitchen to the customer for immediate consumption - hence the delivery distance limit.

You should be able to use it and just make multiple copies for each postcode you deliver to and add a different price.
