EZ thumbnails

I just wanted to say Thank You for this mod! It works great and saves the load time on my clients server big time! My client has very large image files since their product is very visual in nature, this brought the images down to size with no noticeable degradation and the thumbs and med images are great too!

Thanks again!

Re: EZ thumbnails

Hey all, I have another question -

I'm using a certain style for featured products and a different style for new products. This involves a different background colour to their respective containers.

Is there any way I can mess with the $background_color variable in extra_functions/ so the 2 different colours are outputted depending on the style being used.

Thanks

Re: EZ thumbnails

@thomasharding: anything is possible, but I am afraid I can't help much with that.

Maybe use transparent backgrounds? (I think only well supported for gif pictures ?)

And the thumbnails are created (once) per size. This might be a problem, but on the other hand you might be able to use this to hack the script if you use different size thumbnails for the featured and new product listings, and let the background color depend on the thumbnail size too.

Re: EZ thumbnails

Hello,
I'm using on my test site 1.38 version of zencart and try tu use eztubnail. Unfortunately, what I install it on the right places, then the content of the web page disappears and also the right bar will do the same. Did someone had same problem before or I'm the only one??! Can anyone tell me, what I'm doing wrong.

DougWare:

I fixed it!

I had to enable proportional images, which then broke my cart. I discovered that it was because apparently I was missing gd and php-gd. Now I'm good to go.

Thanks

 Almost half of my clients can't generate thumbnails and I've pondered for months why on earth they cant.

Now it's fixed!!

Can't believe I missed that.

I think it's something to do with using templatecrapster, which i think turns it off during installation.

Re: EZ thumbnails

Hi

I've been asked by my customer who's web site background is grey if the thumbnails can be generated onto a coloured background instead of white. I had a nose through the module but didn't spot anything. Any help would be appreciated if this is possible.

Thanks

Hey,

First of all, your mod is fantastic, when it works. We get soo many idiotic clients using massive images for products. Really takes the pee.

Anyway, on to the 'when it works' part:

I upload your script to my server and it works fine sometimes. For some reason or other at times, the page with a certain image on acts as if it has had an 'exit;' function placed on it.

I carefully looked over which type of images cause this, but it's seemingly random. I've tried images over 3mb, some work. Some under 100k work. It just doesnt make any sense.

Very annoying!!

Your help would be much appreciated.

Tom

Argh!!

I wish I could go back in time and ask myself how I resolved this.

I'm having the same problem again. Bad times.

I've noticed though that the client have been uploading corrupt images which causes the page to stop. Once I remove the image, the thing loads again.

Is there anything I can put in the EZ Thumbs script which throws an error when the image is corrupt instead of just displaying a blank page??

Thanks again.

Sorry to be pushy but can anyone help me with this? I'm absolutely desperate!!! :(:(
