lost right sideboxes ba activate own template

i have installed a new template and also i set the sideboxes on in admin ...
only the left boxes are visible - if i want to activate the right sideboxes ... no boxes on right side working ...
how can i fix that?

using 1.35

For people ending up here only to find a dead end... no worries, I can't seem to let a post go to waste. :P

what happened was the right column global switch was turned off by mistake;
Admin-Configuration-Layout Settings;
Column Left Status - Global = 1(on) Column Right Status - Global = 0(off)
