Actually, yes, Ajeh is right. It's all built-in. I was thinking something a bit more complicated than that.

But you know the easy way won't be the best way ... I hear the need for new code ...

Granted it has been on the list of fun things to do for some time now ... :smartass:

Re: list price - my price - you save $xx

actually i looked at the sales/specials... and it is close.. but i was thinking of a code that allowed you to enter it as a you would description... the code would allow for a MSRP input and not write if left empty. (for those who do not use it) and calculate the difference for the YOU SAVE (also not write if msrp not used)... note You save should also include any sale prices being promoted writing the savings in that aspect even if msrp is not used... while i am a php novice as far as coding... i have coding experience... i would assume it would look somewhere like this....

(Very lamen code)
MSRP $input variable ; character length/input in dollars/cents; if null dont write; else write whatever file/location

You save $input variable - reg price variable - sale price variable; write total.... !!!! <--exclamations important

have "you save" in red also (people think red is really important)... maybe some ----- through the msrp price or make it optional... have msrp in a dull gray to make it look ugly (people shun ugly things)....

LOL that looks funny... anyhoot

you PROFESSIONAL coders in php know what I am getting at... you guys are the best here... sniffol "I love you maaannnnn!"

ps..thanks for all the help...

Re: list price - my price - you save $xx

The sales/specials infrastructure does this:

List Price (could also be called MSRP in some cases) $Our Selling Price
Save $value (or percentage)

or, using a real example:

$35.00 $24.85
Save 29%

How does that differ from what you just said?

Re: list price - my price - you save $xx

right, maybe i redefine that code for msrp.. because you want it to also show sale price if needed... so there would be 3 variables.. but that is a good idea.. if i can come up with something i will let you know.. let me BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP.... first ...... then i will work on it....
