Sales Tax not showing on the bill -- zone misconfiguration

Hi any help would be appreciated the online shop https://www.jms-music.de has been online for a couple of months now and is now showing results, however when a customer makes an order the Email which they are sent does not include sales tax...although the price is included in the displayed prie on the site...
When we make a test order with our own log in everything works as it should.

As Im sure you all know Internet pricing is not very Profit friendly and when we loose an additional 16% it hurts!!!

Only 1 zone selected (Germany)
Tax Rates set to 16%
Shipping/Packaging set to Germany

Please help!!

Re: Sales Tax not showing on the bill -- zone misconfiguration

Have you perhaps missed a setting in configuring your taxes?

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/faq.php?faq=zone_tax_cfg#faq_tax_setup

Here's another checklist of things I asked another person recently.

Perhaps you can post "your" answers to these questions here (not over in that other post)?

Re: Sales Tax not showing on the bill -- zone misconfiguration

Hi JMS_Music
I have exactly the same problem with Australian GST. (it works the same as your VAT).
Tax and prices all correct on website and during checkout but email copy of order has 0% tax. Price on invoice sent to customer is ExTax.

Did you find and fix the problem? If so I would appreciate it if you could post the solution. I have been trying to find it for months.

Anybody else know the solution?

Thanks

Re: Sales Tax not showing on the bill -- zone misconfiguration

I may have found the solution!
In Configuration - MyStore: set Basis of Product Tax and Basis of Shipping Tax both to Shipping.
In Locations / Taxes - Zone Definitions: set your appropriate tax zone
(e.g. Australian Zones) then press the folder icon to drill down and Insert each individual zone to be included in the main tax zone.
(E.g. Country=Australia Zone = New South Wales
Country=Australia Zone = Queensland
Country=Australia Zone = Western Australia etc, etc)

DO NOT USE "Country = Australia Zone=All Zones" as I had done !

Using "All Zones" allows correct tax to be applied for customers in the same shipping zone as your store, which is why all the test purchases work OK, but for customers in different zones, the Sales Tax (VAT/GST) is omitted.

Hope this solves it for you too.

jonnod:

Clarification to above:

I said in post above ....

Using "All Zones" allows correct tax to be applied for customers in the same shipping zone as your store, which is why all the test purchases work OK, but for customers in different zones, the Sales Tax (VAT/GST) is omitted.

Jonnod

I would like to add that "All Zones" does not appear to give correct tax for customers in different SUB-zones, even if they are in the same Country Zone as you.

Hope this helps.
