Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS & other questions

im wondering exactly what this is.
Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS

is this verifing the customers email address when they sign up for an account to make sure its an active email address? or what? is there a reason why its not enabled by default?

any info would be great, if it works like a verification of email, thats just another way to help me process orders and everything.

COUPLE OTHER QUESTIONS-
domain - https://www.myrcsupply.com

when i view my site in IE with 1400x1050 res, the text on the site is super small, almost unreadable. can someone check this for me and tell me if its the same for them, if so, how do i fix it? any help would be great. when viewing in FIREFOX its perfect no problems at all.

my next question is- when you click on LOGIN does the browser (firefox or IE) give you the doamin mismatch error when taking you to SSL? i believe that i have fixxed this issue, however i was told that someone had that problem just the other day... if someone has some time to check on this for me, it would be great.

Thanks again guys.

Re: Verify E-Mail Addresses Through DNS & other questions

It is a check that used to be done to see whether the given email address "might" be valid by contacting the hosting email server to confirm that the specified domain exists.

From my experience it is seldom reliable, and always introduces a slow-down/delay in processing every email being validated. It also doesn't work well on Windows servers.

It is non-functional in v1.3.x
