Combining Attributes with stock and attributes w/o stock

Is it possible? We are selling baby creeper outfits and they come in sizes that I am using an add-on for stock by attributes. I've run into a problem though. I want to give customers the option to purchase the outfits in a gift jar. The gift jar option has unlimited stock since the jars are always readily available. It seems like I have to add the number of size 3 mos. with jar and the number without jar, but the problem is that we have a limited number of the outfits and an unlimited number of jars. The jars and outfits are independent of one another and the add-on seems to force them to be dependent. Is there a way around this?

Anyone? I'm thinking it's not possible, but can anyone confirm?

There are discussions in one of the archive threads about how to inhibit the need to specify quantities for gift wrapping which would seem to be directly relevant to your requirement. However, it's not for the faint hearted. The discussion starts at post #199.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, but unfortunately that is way over my head. Is there an alternative way to get the result I'm seeking?

Alas that's the only solution of which I'm aware off at this time. There are limitations to what can easily be achieved via an add-on.

However, this whole function is scheduled for inclusion in the core code in the next major release of Zen Cart and I'm sure that the generic problem that you have will be considered by the Zen Cart team when designing the integrated approach.
