In Zen Cart there isn't a subscription email confirmation requirement.

A-ha! Turns out this is a feature of NotGoddess' Newsletter Subscribe addon, and the confirmation can't be turned off. I should read readmes more carefully. Thank you for responding!

In this day and age it's probably not a good idea to turn it off anyway - even if you could - which you probably can with some code work - but you really shouldn't...if you get my drift! :D
