Local Charge?

Any idea what a local charge is?

We do not have any special setting for this or mod addon.

Never experienced this before.

it well over charged 25.90 for nothing. Just need to figure what is causing this to charge.

Local: $25.90

Huh? How about more details.

Re: Local Charge?

What do you see in the Modules ... Order Totals ...

Anything new or unexpected?

What do you find if you go to the Tools ... Developer's Tool Kit and type in the bottom input box:
Local

You may see more than you are looking for but see if anything looks odd or unusual ...

Note: the amount is close to 5% ... do you have a new Tax setup or something that you are unaware of?

Re: Local Charge?

Order totals are fine exact to another cart.

Developer kit attached in notepad below

Taxes are Nebraska, however before I repaired his website with fresh install readded what was necessary it had florida tax but do not see that is relevant to this case since the customer is from Iowa.

Any other ideas?

I am just curious because this type of charge can be in price gouging to the customers state laws etc. According to this websites owner.

Re: Local Charge?

Go into phpMyAdmin and browse the table: tax_rates

What is in there?

Anything in there that does not belong?

Anything have the field: tax_description with the word Local in it?

Re: Local Charge?

That is what is causing it ...

On 2006-10-11 you added something to the database either in error or on purpose ...

Or, you deleted something manually ...

Or, you do not have a complete upgrade or something ...

Check each of your zones and see if anything has that as the description in the Admin ...

If you know you have no tax, then you should not have any tax_rates defined ...

First see it you have something defined in the Admin ...

If not, before attempting to delete anything manually, backup your database ...

But I would review your zone and tax and geo tables before deleting things ...

I have the local tax set to nebraska thats the owners state, so your saying to delete Zone Definitions - Taxes, Payment and Shipping - Florida.

Which i did so lets hope that takes the cake.

Thanks Ajeh.

Also got a question for you from one of my design helpers, is the minimum $20.00 a month to be able to get into the Commercial Help Wanted or can he offer a little less, he is on small budget work and he was just wondering.

I will be paying it for him if it is allowed

Thanks again

Re: Local Charge?

Only tax rate in there now is the nebraska rates, so hopefully that will fix it.

I understand you working your hiny off for hardly nothing, but when you are on disability getting only 489.00 a month and your rent is 545.00 + utilities thats just as bad  , but has I said it isnt for me it is a for a friend who I have do small work on the side to help him out. He does the designing and css layouts in which I hate the most, time consuming.

For me I have to much on my plate as it is, running 3 stores and 2 garages here locally in Cincinnati, Florence and Alexandria plus running 2 commerce websites, a hosting site in which it is holding over 21 zencart stores thats plenty for me. I already donate to zen under a different email address when help is offered like today, but I keep it under the table due to tax reasons and donations reasons, I dont feel like reporting this on each tax qoute we send to Frankfort, paper work and so on.

But I appreciate it, I will let him know what you said or just show him this thread so he can see for himself.

I do agree with everyone else you do deserve more then what your getting that goes for your team as well, some of my clients who I host who use zen has donated for trade of a month worth of hosting that I offer if they do so. This is another way of me helping you all out.
