>_< Will it break Zencart? Adding fields to standard table..

Hi all,

:sleepy: I'm trying to add more functionality to Zencart.

Our customer want to be able to list a product using different
currencies. (1 currency - 1 product).

In order to do that I would have to add a currency field to the
product table.

What my quest is. Would it be better to create a lookup table or
to just add a field to the product table itself?

Would this impact future upgrade?
Would this impact the current zencart code?
Thanks,
Deddy

If I get your post correctly; This is already built in to ZenCart...In the admin check the currencies that are enabled, and the side box for currencies.

Select the currency and the prices are changed to that currency.

Hi Kobra...:D

 The functionality that exist within Zencart is not really what the customer want.

They wanted 1 product - 1 Currency...

Eg... Product 123 in USD$
Product 456 in IDR Rupiah...
Product 789 in BRP Pound..

When the user check out. All these different currencied product would
be converted into the default currency.. totaled up for payment..::mellow:

Thanks,

Oooof! You're lookin at some serious custom code work there. If you're not up for it, I definitely recommend you hit the Commercial Help Wanted section.

Re: >_< Will it break Zencart? Adding fields to standard table..

:D It's done..

Did some changes to currencies class and add a method into it...
and the shopping cart class...

I don't think I'd have a smooth upgrade later though...
and I think the multiple currency part within zencart will clash with this
new functionality.. :lamo: ...

But it should be fine... Documentation is the KEY..

Thanks,
