New Website and little problem.

Hi people, ive just set up a new website and have already had my first customer! However my first customer is caused my first problem. My flat rate shipping cost is fine for every single other item i seel other than this one item, where the shipping cost is uh.. a little bit more. Luckily for me this person lives in a drivable distance so its not going to cost me what it should. Is there any way I can change this one items delivery cost?

another note, i want to get rid of the new products box when the customer is viewing categories i cant seem to find the option :(

ok, your first issue... login to admin go to MODUALS>SHIPPING here you can control all the moduals you currently have installed, as well as install new ones and configure them.

as for your second question. again, login to admin go to TOOLS>LAYOUT BOX CONTROLER and find the box that you want to remove. click EDIT, and disable that box..

THe layout box manager only deals with side boxes, not with the new items box. I cannot find this link any where.

I wish to change the price of one single item. Not add another shipping module... Is this possible

The center boxes are controlled by Admin> Configuration> Index Listing.

edit the product in admin, change your weight to a higher number. this will make the shipping modual calculate a larger charge for shipping that item.

NOTE: on some items, you may need to give it a weight that is even HIGHER than its actualy phisical weight. This is becuase of size.. if the item is quite large, it will cost more than just its weight, as some carriers will mesure the box size and charge you by that as well.

We noticed this on a few items being shipped UPS.

also you may want to adjust your tare weights under Shipping/packaging. this will help you to cover the added weights of packaging (penuts/wraping paper/extra box/tape, ect)

checkout Quick Updates mod, it will allow you to quickly adjust all products. You can edit just about everything about them, except those which contain attributes that adjust/modify the cost of an item. (these items will be noted within quick updates)

that could help you in adjusting your product weights.
