single products, Multiple partnumber .. how to setup ?

Hello everyone..
I have this problme that i hope someone can point me to right direction..
I will be using Zen cart to show/sell Lab supplies..
Problme is that.. many of those products comes in different sizes or colors /etc.. but each of them got thier own unique PartNumber.

I don't want to creat multiple product list for single ITEM just becuase there are many part numbers..
Is there a way that can i show single image / description .. and then allow customer to select specific product they want ? ( someting like attribute ) , as long as order shows the correct part number of item ordered..

This is HUGE - It's a problem I've been trying to solve for a while, and the reason I signed on. can anyone help!? I for one would be willing to pay for this.
