On re-reading my earlier post about the CAPTCHA mod, I realize that it needs some additional clarification.

Firstly, I'm a big fan of this mod and its author (funkey). The mod is easily installed and does exactly what it says it will. And the author has taken the trouble to update it for each new release of Zen Cart.

However, through no fault of the author, this is a mod that is currently very sensitive to being matched to the correct version of Zen Cart since the code upon which it is built has gone through some large changes. So if you use an earlier version of the mod on a current version of Zen Cart (and especially if you use the 099.135 version on a 1.3.6 or later Zen Cart) you will lose the benefit of corrections made to the underlying Zen Cart code and reflected in the mod. Using a newer version of the mod on an older Zen Cart might also have adverse results that are less easy to predict.

Given this, anybody having the types of problem described above in a 1.3.6 or later Zen Cart with the CAPTCHA mod installed, should first try to resolve it by installing (or reinstalling) the version of the mod that matches their version of Zen Cart.

If you're running version 1.3.5 or earlier, then you will need to upgrade Zen Cart to get the solution introduced in 1.3.6. And of course when upgrading your Zen Cart you will also need to upgrade your version of the CAPTCHA mod.

A bit complicated I know, but if it's not clear, please post back here.

In fact, anyone using 0.99.135 -- should also grab the SQL uninstall script from http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=312611&postcount=98 and run it before upgrading to the latest version.

Later versions include a much more flexible .sql install file, allowing the CAPTCHA module to seamlessly operate with a number of other third-party modifications.

I think the problem is with a modified /includes/modules/create_account.php

I have fixed the problem uploading a original no modified archive.

Hi Maybrick. Could you provide more information as to how your create_account file came to be modified.

There are several mods out there that replace this file. It would be helpful to know which one has caused you this problem.

The problem is I get the error only with one of the two sites I actually have with zencart, so it´s posible it was other mod. The header information of the file modified with time zone has a different code:

My friend was fixed for me.He said file tpl_modul_creataccount.php have problem in template.

As for the CAPTCHA module, the author of the Time Zone Offset mod (gilby) has been very conscientious at keeping the module up-to-date as Zen Cart has evolved.

However, the code snippets that you have posted suggest that you are using the 1.3.0.2 version of the Time Zone Offset mod with a Zen Cart 1.3.6. To make this work you would need to use the 1.3.6 version of the Time Zone Offset module.

You will think I´m a mad hehehe I think I have the two versions mixed in my system, but with the corrections I can have a zencart working fine :-) The only problem is sometimes I get some troubles but zencart it´s very powerfull so I can fix them and have the online shop working :-)

Okay, I have just uploaded all of the 1.3.7 files to a test cart for an upgrade. I had a copy of the create_account.php in a custom folder so I deleted it so it should be using the new one for that file. I do not have a templates/mytemplate/templates folder in which to look for the other file that is mentioned. Still, I get this error message. Can anyone help me, please?

I have spent a lot of time on this particular problem and got extremely frustrated over the situation. In the end I did a complete new installation of the website and database to reset everything. I found when I tested the default template everything worked fine and then I applied my own custom template and found that the same problem occurred with the country error message as before. I then compared the files within the includes/templates/YOUR TEMPLATE/templates with windiff. This showed that there were differences between various files but the most important ones were the following ones:

tpl_modules_address_book_details.php
tpl_modules_checkout_address_book.php
tpl_modules_create_account.php

I then copied these files from the template_default template folder and overwrote my files and tested again. All seemed to work fine after this :)

The only thing I can think of was that I had installed a module previously that had overwritten some files but I can't remember which ones they were.

I know these were extreme measures but it was a process of elimination to get to this result!

This worked out great. I was excited to start my first Shopping site project for my first client. I was using a template from another vendor. Things were going great... then all of a sudden when testing the site - one problem after another. All were easily solved by using a method very similiar to this one. They design great "looking" templates. Have to give them that at the least.

I was having the same problem with adding addresses, however, there is one more piece of code you missed.

tpl_modules_checkout_new_address.php

Well, this worked only for customers who had created accounts. It did not work for creating new customers. What I do not understand it that I had this store running smoothly for months without making any modifications and without any problems.

then a couple customers complained they couldn't change their shipping address at checkout. so I did the fix above and it worked.

Then I get an email today stating a customer could not create an account because of the "select a country" error message.

please help.

Check all of the /modules/page/whatever that you have updated those files correctly ...

Also check all templates related to addresses ...

There was a significant fix made to these files from v1.3.5 to fix address issues ...

If you missed any of the updates you will continue to experience problems ...

Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com is very helpful in doing an FTP compare of a clean Zen Cart to your site to ensure all files are in place and up to date ...
