customers account, accounting system

I think it woud be nice if a customer could se his balance and not only his privious orders. In other words how much he owes the shop.
That requires some interaction with the accounting system.
How do others solve that problem?

Zen Cart is not designed to be an "on account" system, but you could adapt it with some custom coding.
