Sports Club Entries

Hi,
I have an interesting need for Zen Cart.

I am using it for club membership, club merchandise and (the interesting one) race entries.

There are several problems with race entries:

• The head coach has to authorise them and physically enter them into the rowing associations managment system
• The entries must be applicable. For example someone who is 23 and female cannot enter in an Under 19 Men's race
• There are crew boats (team events) with several members. For example MI4+ would require 4 men (and a coxen) who are at an intermediate level (rowing association) and you would need to know who they are.

So I decided the easiest method would be to have a regatta account. The head coach does the entries (people say if they want to race) and takes the money out of people's regatta accounts and people can check how much money they have left in their account and top it up when it needs to be.

Any ideas?

You might create the "product" (race in this case) and using attributes that are text entries i.e. entrant#1, entrant#2 etc up to the required number for the specific event that this "product" is for and maybe credentials entrant #1, #2 and so forth where their status or associate number or whatever might be issued to them denoting their status from the rowing association....and process it as a normal item purchase paid by CC or another method you select over keeping an account type of system as you call "regatta account". The latter being possible but more difficult than a straight purchase.

If you want this account thing, you might adapt the gift certificate function over to a regatta account where credits(gift certificates) are place in account(purchased) and then drawn against.

These items would be set then to the approval for purchase setting so that the coach can approve that the entrants meet the requirements.
