Maintenance on = true; and a redirecting error

When I set the Maintenance on to true, I get a 'The page isn't redirecting properly' error.
When I first set this to true, every worked as expected. Then I thought I would change the Down for Maintenance: file name text. I used the spell checker on the Google tool bar in firefox. It found a spelling mistake and I corrected it. Though before remembering to click on stop spell checking in the Google tool bar, I clicked on update in the admin>Website Maintenance interface.
ever since then Maintenance on set to true creates the error.
Any thoughts.

Sorry again I forgot to mention that It the maintenance is set to false at the moment because of the error.

No, that doesnt seem to work, thanks for the suggestion.
I'm wondering what was past from the 'Down for Maintenance: file name' field seeing the Google spell checker was active on that string. Where does the field get sent to on submit, is it a file or a database?

As a test and out of interest I'm going to post a message here (my next message) with the Google spell checker active to see what the output is.
