Moving multiple products at a time

I've tried searching for this but to no avail.

I've got quite a large number of products (300+) and I'm setting up a new structure of categories to make browsing much more smoother and efficient.

I want to move the products into their new categories, but the only way I see how to do it is click on each individual product's M and choose the new category.

Is there a way to move them in batches? I know some of you will suggest renaming their current category, but I'm moving some products into different areas for better relativity, so I can't just simply rename the category and leave it at that.

Any suggestions?

Are all the products that you want to move to a new category in another category?

As in are you trying to move all products in categories_id 32 to categories_id 37 ...

Well, let's say there are a bunch of about 10 products in a category/subcategory. I want to move those 10 products to a different category all at once.

If all the products in a category need to be moved you can do it but if it is just some products in a category it is best to do one by one ...

This is on the list for thing to do for a future release ...

I have about 30,000 products in one store, I hope that I will be able to move multiple products soon in the next upgrade.

there should be an easy way to do this using just sql in the database.
each product is connected with a product id to several other tables,
including category. there is one table that joins both category and product, i think it's called category_2_product. by updating that table and maybe one or two others you should be all set. suggest you ask the zen cart people to provide you with an sql update query you can use. always back up your database first, by either exporting it to your desktop or some other means...
