Marketing Emails / Email Marketing

Does anyone know of a plug-in for ZC where it will let you pick the products you want to market and then it generates a marketing email and sends it to all your current customers?

I have been looking for ages for something like this but cant find it anywhere, I would do one myself if was capable to I don’t think I am at that standard yet.

If anyone does know of a system that does this kind of thing then it would be really appreciated.

Re: Marketing Emails / Email Marketing

You're looking for a module that automatically generates marketing copy? I don't see how that could exist in any system, as marketing usually targets one of more specified demographics, so the body and tone of the message could vary greatly from one store to the next.

Why can't you just use the e-mail functionality built into the Zen admin (Admin > Tools > Send E-mail)? You can do plain text or fancy HTML messages, then just include links to your products.

Re: Marketing Emails / Email Marketing

I am looking for something similar - for example I would like to pull off address details of all customers who's email address ends in ac.uk so that we can market to university student unions who have used before about university charity RAG weeks next year. I can do a simple customer search, but how do I export the details (bearing in mind I am a complete wally when it comes to SQL)?

Haven't found anything so far that will let me do this - although I must admit have only just started to look.

Unfortunately, there's nothing in the stock Zen Cart system to perform customer exporting like you're looking for, however it would be a pretty easy job for custom work. That of course depends on whether or not you'd be willing to pay.

There's an email-address-exporter tool in the Downloads area. You could use that to extract the data.
You could then massage the exported data, or you could brush off your PHP+MySQL books and write a query into the query_builder table to only extract the kinds of email addresses you desire ... and use that option when exporting so you don't have to massage extracted data.
