Subcategories & Site Map

how to make subcategories to appear in the site map..? only categories tht displays in my site map. why is tht?? does anyone know?

Perhaps you have an issue on your database with the parent_id in the categories table ...

I have gone 5+ levels deep on Categories with subcats and they all show on the Site Map ...

Note: be sure you do not have Categories with both Categories and Products in the same Category ... Categories hold Products or Categories hold Categories ... never both ...

im still not sure wht happened here. let me explain how i add my products.

1. admin>catalog>categories/products>new category

i create ex. 3 new category car, cake & ball.
then in the car category i create new product ex. ford, honda & volvo. and the rest categories...

it should appear like this right?

Car
-ford
-honda
-volvo

Cake

Ball

but it doesnt. have i done the right way? wht am i missing?

Do you have any Products in the Car category?

ford, honda & volvo are examples of products in the car category.. it could be something else..

The site map shows Categories and any subcategories ... I see your Categories and you do not appear to have subcategories ... just Products ...

Products do not appear on the Site Map ...

I do recall that there was a MOD around that allowed products to be shown in the sitemap. I have it installed with my sitemap but don't remember where it was originally found in the forum.

oic.. may be ive misunderstood the definition of the site map.. i thought the products acts like subcategories. but if theres any chance it can be shows on the site map plz let know while im looking around for other threads.

Here's a zip with the modified file:

Just unip and place the file in includes -> classes and then up it to your server.
