Integrating a custom text counter.

Hi all,

I have developed a javascript text counter for a client that I need to integrate into ZC (version 1.3.0.2). It differs from others in that it it provides a surcharge for extra characters over a certain limit.

What is the best way to integrate it into only certain product pages? It will need to pass the surcharge figure produced by the javascript to be added to the cost of the product. I plan to pass it via the £_POST['surcharge'] global as it seems the easiest (only?) way.

I have scoured the forum for help but nothing seems to get close.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Re: Integrating a custom text counter.

You might look at how the free characters work with text that is already built into Zen Cart to see where to change the calculation ...

Re: Integrating a custom text counter.

Thanks Ajeh.

I have looked at a number of files that I thought were connected but I can't follow the process that displays the text in the shopping cart (from the form's text area) and leads to adding a figure to the cart total.

Can you elaborate and point me in the right direction please?

Thanks.
