Increase Product Name Field

hello there,

how do i increase the number of characters you can enter on the product name field when entering new products.

any help would be much appreciated.

The default limit is 64 characters, and is determined from your database structure.

If you want to make it longer, simply use phpMyAdmin to change the "products_name" field in the products_description table to a longer length.

Be sure to do a database backup first.

I am trying to lengthen the product name to recieve a longer description on the packing slip and/or invoice. I went into my data base
and changed only the field length and I recieved the error listed below. Any ideas what I need to do different. Thank You
