I'm getting warning: Cannot modify header information -

I have tried to follow all the instructions but am getting frustrated. I made a custom temlate and moved the css style sheet, and english.php and meta tags.php ....changes them and nothing happened. So I changes the orgional files and I get that crappy header warning...then I undo what I changed and the mesasage will not go away please help. I just want to change the sales messafe and tagline etc
