Changes in Define Pages Editor Won't Save

Hey guys, I tried searching for an answer to my problem first, but didn't have any luck.

The problem is this. I obviously want to be able to change the text on pages like Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, etc. which I should be able to do from the Define Pages editor. I go in there, delete what is there and insert what I want and then click save. But the page never changes. It always reverts back to the original "privacy sample text" etc.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this? I know I could obviously go in and change each page manually outside of zencart and then upload, but it would be nice to be able to use this feature.

have you given write permission (CHMOD 644) to the appropriate template files?

Yes, you need to give it the appropriate permissions. If that fails, try some other ftp program or your cpanel to change the permissions. If that still fails, talk to your host....might be something on their end.

i have tried changing the permissions to no avail. Is there any chance it could be because of the fact that I'm using the classic template?

When you go back into the define pages editor, do you see what you had previously typed, or does that also revert to the original text?

Then it sounds like a permissions problem....and I don't think your template has anything to do with it. I know that with a particular host that I've installed ZC on, I have to change permissions 3 or 4 times before it will "stick". I would try using a different ftp program to change permissions, and if worse comes to worse ask your host about it....they might know something funky going on with the server.

I have just upgraded to V1.3.7 from V1.3.0 as this problem occurred in V1.3.0.

Upgrading has made no difference.

Any ideas please.

I'm having a similar problem. Even when it saves on Define Pages Editor or I even edit it myself in dreamweaver and then reupload my define_page nothing shows.

Your OS is windows, the "define page editor" in some windows may auto come back

I have the same problem:
Changes in Define Pages Editor Won't Save and when I go back into the define pages editor, I also can't see what I had previously typed, so it reverts to the original text.
I have checked permissions multiple times. I have checked overrides etc.
Nothing really helps.
I can edit text via ftp / BBEdit and then it will show but not from admin.
