Can't Find index.php in root folder

I'm having problem with my new installation. I can't find index.php in root folder. I tried /catalog install as well, same problem. In both situations I'm able to access the admin/index.php. Please what do I need to do differently? Thanks.

Check to see if you had a bad install of the files by reloading the files to your site ...

Sometimes, your FTP program can have a problem and load bad, corrupt or skip files and you just need to reload the files ...

As this issue comes up so often maybe we should have a stickie with a list of FTP programmes known to cause upload problems e.g. Cute, Smart, Coffee Cup, Dreamweaver etc.
