Page edge off screen at right

I am a beginner at this! I've amended a page, it still looks good on my pc large monitor but when i view it on my lap top the page runs off screen at the right. I see on most websites the pages shrink to fit the screen and the text boxes etc go narrower. I use dreamweaver. How can I make the page adapt to whichever monitor it is viewed on? Thanks so much!

some pages are ok but others are sliding off to the right so not all text is visible. thanks for response.

I looked at your site on my laptop (screen resolution: 1280x768) and I couldn't find a page with a problem. when I resize to 800 x 600 the only page that misbehaves is the services page. You do need to fix a couple of problems in the stylesheet```

The validator does not like this at all.

Thanks mike for your reply. I know i must sound stupid but is the style sheet the template 'services_default.php' ? if not where will i find the style sheet. I am completely self taught at this and mostly dont have a clue. Also what was your comment about the validator? should that line you quoted not be in the style sheet? thanks againg gilly

I would delete it and then go through the site and see if there have been any changes with any of the menus, which is what this strange css rule is suppose to be targeted at.

The hardest thing about fluid layouts are the images, typically the header... Your header banner image is 938x150, thus cut off in 800x600 resolutions. Best to surf the web and look into fluid header methods for ideas.

Thanks Sketchy. Even getting to know the correct terminology when you r gettin started is a minefield! I'll look up fluid layouts! That's a start. I've also changed some widths on each page to 100%rather than pixel size of 700+ which seems to have helped
