Customer details not processing in 1.35

The site was working well with the upgrade to 1.35 but many customers have problems inputting the customer details as it goes back to a blank page.
What should I do?

Re: Customer details not processing in 1.35

Richard,

Are they actually reporting a problem or are visitors leaving without signing up?
Don't know if you are actually live or testing with friends. I was able to register with no problem but did have to go back to state after changing the country to United States.

I personally got totally frustrated when trying to look at products and would not have registered with the site if I had stumbled across it. I would have gone away simply out of frustration.

Health Food shop info is apparently designed as information only. Clicking on it just gives an informational page. After scrolling through 228 lines of text, I find that there are no products to list in this category. I didn't believe it myself so I copied the text into Word for a word count. 1,941 words! Maybe this could be moved to the EZPages or the More Information sidebox.

Clicking on Omni ball Massage takes me to another category page full of text with a link for Omni Roller. This takes me to another page where I have to scroll through even more text to find the products. I can appreciate the fact you've separated them out to keep inventory track of the colors but, most customers will leave either at or before the third click with no product. I'm not sure people are ready to read that much information on a massager. Perhaps a more information link for those who do want to research and a simpler layout for those who simply want to buy.

Something you might play with for the product listings is to add the following to the end of your stylesheet.> .productListing-even {

Background-color: #abbbd3;
}

.productListing-data {
vertical-align: middle;
}

.itemTitle {
margin-left: 0.5em;
text-align: left;
}

.listingDescription {
margin-left: 0.5em;
text-align: left;
}You can experiment with this in firefox without actually saving just to see what can happen with each of the above.

Once you get those like you like them, you might want to visit the titles of your products. Some are completely in Title Case and others not. Sometimes you list a size as 60ml and sometimes 60 ml. If you wish to keep it as 60 ml, you would need to place a non-breaking space ( ) between the 60 and the ml.

YNotnatural is also presented as Ynotnatural and Y-Not Natural. Their website presents it as y-not natural in the title and Y-Not Natural elsewhere

You may be able to lessen the number of listings by exploring attributes and quantity discounts. The 60 ml Emu oil could simply have a quantity price of 15.31 versus the customer later finding they could have gotten two at that price. And, again, the single takes you through 192 lines before finding the add to cart.

Not trying to beat you up here. I think the overall look of the site is excellent. I just feel overwhelmed with information and an impression that you are trying to prove your expertise and connections versus selling a product. Information is excellent but, IMHO, should be readily available while remaining optional.

Re: Customer details not processing in 1.35

I must thank you for the checking out the site.
Customers have range me to tell me they can not log in.
Your feedback is very good. they site has been live or for 1.5 years. the new upgraded one for 1 month. But the logging in problems in the last week weeks. I thought i solved it by including the drop down bit of state.
I will have to ask my webiste guy to do the changes as I only add all the text . your are right, but somethimes you can have an information over load.

thanks

richard

Re: Customer details not processing in 1.35

The login problem was fixed in v1.3.6. You need to upgrade to get all of the parts and pieces. Don't forget to upgrade your templates too.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.
