no https after upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6

Okay so I went through the process of upgrading. I've done this before but my store has grown and every time I do this I get more and more worried. (even though I could restore a backup)

So I did the upgrade removed PayPal IPN and reinstalled, reconfigured my linkpoint API. NOW I am not getting my https at my logins or checkouts.

Any advice?

Re: no https after upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6

Your links to login show https but you don't go to the secure page ...

Did you change something on an .htaccess or have a redirect?

Could you post your file, from the server, for:
/includes/configure.php

without your username and password?

Re: no https after upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6

Good news ... I don't see anything weird on the configure.php ...

Bad news ... this site is messed up ...

For starters ... switch the site to Classic ... does the navigation work right for non-secure and secure pages now? As in does the Login link now take you to a secure page?

No it does not.

How messed up is it?

Having you say that makes me worry A LOT!

And I don't quite understand because everything else works fine.

Re: no https after upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6

Well ... something is moofy ... your links all show correctly from the header to the shopping cart for checkout etc.

But, when I click what should be a secure page I am not going to it ...

Do you have 1 directory or 2 directories for your secure and non-secure pages?

If you never touched the original files and only used templates and overrides then something else is messed up on the site ...

This could be files missing from updates, .htaccess on the server, secure URL configuration etc.

Technically, from a Zen Cart stand point ... we send you to the URL you see if you mouse over a link ...

If you do not go to that location, either a file is bad, missing, corrupt or something is not right on your site ...

I can go to your main page as a secure page ... and it does not automatically redirect me to the non-secure ... but that does not mean there isn't something moofy here ...

I'd be doing an FTP compare with something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com to see if I messed up something on the upgrade ...

Oh wait ... I know ... it is the mod re-writes ...

Flip that off for a minute ... does everything start working?

Close the browser, clear your cache ... start over ...

I just clicked on HOME ... then tried Login and no error ... granted no secure page either ... unless you switched it back on already ...

Re: no https after upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6

I think this may be the ultimate seo urls contribution messing with my ssl pages.
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=282608&highlight=ssl#post282608
I have to do a little more research but it looks like culprit.
I hope I can figure this out.
Thanks Linda

Re: no https after upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6

whoa! I think I figured it out. I actually went back to dreamscape's site and noticed that one of the files that was changed in 1.3.6 was the html_output.php file in /includes/functions/ folder.

I did the required code changes suggested on dreamscape's installation page for the seo urls and now i get ssl pages. I didn't have to do any other changes.

I'm not sure if this was something that was already suggested or not but it worked for me.

mafiasam,

I'm at a loss here, please help. What file did you change, and what changes did you make? I can't find anything but very old file changes on the dreamcast site.

Thank you sooo much for any help...I'm about to lose my mind trying to get the ssl pages to work.
