product_music_info_display.php to tpl_product_info_display.php

Hi there-

When searching for a post with the related problem, i came across a similar thread. However, that user was trying to change product type as they upgraded versions, and instead of going from Info Disply to Music Info Display, i'm going the other way.

I'm using 1.3.5, and i have no clue how a handful of my products wound up using the tpl_product_music_info_didplay.php file instead of the tpl_product_info_display.php file. Is there an easy way to convert the products / product categorys that are affected to tpl_product_info_display.php?

I noticed the difference when troubleshooting why Lightbox was not working with all of my products, and this is why.

Any help would be appreciated, as i've been unsuccessfully attempting to change them back on my own.

To clean up the mess ...

You would need to delete the rows for these Products in the table:
product_music_extra

And then change in the products table the products_type to 1 for these products ...

Before attempting this be sure to backup your database ...

In theory, this should clean up the mess ... I think ... I mean ... umm ... yeah, it should work ... what's the worse that can happen? :lamo:

Since i wasn't using (and won't be using) and of the music info pages, i came up with a rediculously easy fix to this problem: In the product types table, i simply changed the type handler from "product_music" to "product."

Having looked at that table, it makes perfect sense as to why my products had a product type of "2" ... being simply that i didn't want an add to cart button, but it was never clear in the admin tool that the type handler is set to product_music.

Perhaps this could be an improvement to a future release? ...that is, if what i just said made any sense. :)

Be careful on doing that kind of fix ...

You now have 2 product types for product and if the settings are not right, you will have a mess before long ...

It really might be better to clean this up now than find out later that there are problems ...

I am not real comfortable with your fix and I don't want this to come back to haunt you ...
