installing zen cart on apache web server

Hi!

I want to start using zen cart. Also, It is my first time to use apache web server, php, and mysql. Anyway, I used XAMPP to install apache, php, and mysql automatically in one package. However, I don't have any idea on how to install zen cart on the said server. Could anyone please help me. I would appreciate it if you could give me a link on any documentation with step by step tutorial.

you just start ur XAMPP server (its been in ur local system)

then you need to place zencart unzip folder in to xampp dir.

now open localhost

you will find on the left panel some by default program.

you need to add ur zencart here: (nav_left is file wher you need to add ur text)

then open your zencat/index.php

installation will be start

meanwhile create database in phpmyadmin with desire name

thats it

actually unzip the zen cart directory into the htdocs folder in the xampp tree

Anyway, I had one more problem on security issue that i am trying to figure out. I don't know where to go in order to change the permission of the configuration file. I am using windows, the tutorials i found are for unix.
Anyone, please help me.

right click on the file and go to properties and at the bottom you can set the permissions. Sometimes windows is stubborn about the permissions so if you have any problems let me know
