how do they work Links in side boxes

hello,
I have been trying to change a link in the side box called catagories. I want to take out the new product link.

Also how do I change the welcom email that goes to the customer.

You could just turn it off in the Configuration ... Layout Settings ...

Categories Box - Show Products New Link
