Blurry images - have set proportion but still blurry

Hi there,

Iv just cant figure out whats wrong. Iv looked and looked through this forum.

I have set my images up in an 5/4 ratio and the images are saved as 300 px wide and 240px high. Iv set every box i can in the config > images section to a 5/4 ratio but the images in the category AND product page are still blurry.

I have edited the first two images ( to the spec above ) on this page..

Thanks for your time.

Re: Blurry images - have set proportion but still blurry

Have you tried letting Zen do proportion for you - It's a long shot - but instead of setting your images height and width to a specific amount, try changing one or the other to 0 and see if it helps. Remember to do it to all image settings, and the same setting on all (either all height or all weight settings).

Like I said, it's a stab but...

Re: Blurry images - have set proportion but still blurry

Your images may well be saved at 300X240, but in the thumbnail view on the main page they are more like 50X40. The image is therefore being downsampled by a factor of 6 in each axis, and the rendering has a choice - a pixel is either black or white, can't be both. If a line is 3 pixels wide in the original image, what colour would you make it? Since your images are black and white line drawings it is particularly noticeable.
I would suggest increase the size of your thumbnails till you get an acceptable rendition of the image at the thumbnail size, but I agree, the aliasing is fairly unacceptable.

Rgds,
